The Sun claimed that 'a package containing vile racist threats and a suspect white powder' had been sent to the club's training ground on Monday.

Avram Grant
The reports suggest it was the second time that Grant had been targeted following claims of a similar incident in February.

But Chelsea have responded swiftly to the allegations and have denied reports that the Israeli coach has been the subject of threats.

A club statement read: "Reports in the media this morning regarding a threat sent to our training ground against Avram Grant are totally incorrect."

Grant took charge at Stamford Bridge last September after Jose Mourinho's departure and has endured a mixed reign to date.

He was heavily criticised for Chelsea's Carling Cup final defeat to Tottenham and FA Cup exit to Barnsley, but has guided the club through to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals and to within three points of Premier League leaders Manchester United.
